Hi Folks! Rest assured, this being Toronto and all, the great Kayvon of KayvonTV fame was indeed on the scene when the Pittsburgh Steelers arrived in Toronto last night to get ready for their preseason game at the Rogers Center against the Buffalo Bills.
I managed to get the good folks @ KayvonTV working overtime for you, and they have managed to put together my first of many KayvonTV episodes featuring The Pittsburgh Steelers and The Buffalo Bills.
In this video, I meet Pro Bowl Safety Troy Polamalu of long hair fame, I managed to ask Troy about various subjects, ranging from his thoughts on tomorrow’s game, to the possibility of him one day playing in the CFL. (The REAL football league)

I was sad to hear that legendary director, actor, and producer Mr. Sydney Pollack passed away yesterday. I have had the honour and privilege to meet the man on several occasions as he made his way into my fine city of Toronto. My amazing encounter with Mr. Pollack from The Toronto Film Festival a couple years back was actually the basis for the VERY FIRST episode of KayvonTV.com. We have decided to re-post that episode today to remember the man who brought us Out of Africa, Tootsie, and so much more. Cheers Sydney!
Well hopefully the curse works for tonights NBA playoff game folks!!! Hopefully Chris Bosh, TJ Ford, Andrea Bargnani, Anthony Parker, Jose Calderon and the rest of the Toronto Raptors show up tonight for coach Sam Mitchell against the Orlando Magic, led by NBA all-stars, Dwight “Superman” Howard, Hedo Turkoglu, Rashard Lewis, and Jameer Nelson. Sorry I can’t write much write now, I am on my way to my favorite British Pub to watch the game. The Raptors really need the W tonight, so lets go Raptors!!! Superman must die!!
The NBA playoffs are fast approaching, so I thought this would be a appropriate time for us to post an episode featuring a memorable encounter that I had with NBA legend Moses Malone, that’s right folks, the “Mailman” himself.
Moses Malone was a first ballot Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and was named one of the 50 greatest basketball players in NBA history.
He was a 3 time NBA MVP, 12 time NBA All-Star, and ranks third all-time behind only Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for most points scored. He was also the first player to ever go directly from high school to the pros, whem at the age of 18 he signed with the Utah Stars of the now defunked ABA.
Needless to say I am a big fan of the Mailman, so it was a real thrill to see him in the flesh boarding the team bus before the Philadelphia Sixers faced the Toronto Raptors at the Air Canada Center.
I wish he would have been a bit nicer to me, maybe signed an autograph or two for me, perhaps like his former teammate (and current Sixers coach) Maurice “Mo” Cheeks was.
Well you can win them all Folks, after all this is Toronto, where even megastars like myself can’t score Raptors playoff tickets!!
GO RAPS!!!
How exciting it was to hear that one of my favorite guitarists of all time, Slash, would be making a once-in-a-lifetime appearance at Chapters to sign his newly released autobiography. Boy, did the line-up stretch around the block. Not to worry folks, your trusty Kayvon did mange to navigate the long line-up and get right up to Mr. Slash. And yes, Slash did have something cool to tell me. Rock on!
Hey folks! Since it’s the big Hockey Hall of Fame induction week in Toronto right now (HHOF by the way unfortunately still perennially snubbing my favourite NHL player of all time in the legendary great Glenn Anderson - bloody well way overdue there if you ask me) - what better way to celebrate than with a special action-packed video episode celebrating the National Hockey League and its stars of past & present here (plus catching a special few celebrity surprises selectively on hand as award presenters & co-hosts there)! This is my exclusive red carpet report from the 2007 NHL Awards that took place at Toronto’s historic landmark Elgin & Winter Garden Theatre earlier this year in June. The greats of the game were out in full force and it truly was a real pleasure and thrilling honour to meet them all there in person - Joe Sakic, Cam Neely, Willie O’Ree, Chris Pronger… just too many names & so much more there to mention so you’re just going to have to click that little play button above and watch the video for yourselves really! It was especially grand to meet the high commissioner of the NHL himself, Mr. Gary B. Bettman - but something tells me he didn’t appreciate the question I posed to him at this NHL pre-awards show ceremony (hint: Hamilton Steeltown ice hockey anyone?)
I even had a chance to brush up against Mr. Hockey himself, Gordie Howe. But folks, you’re going to have to join my official Facebook group to see that video. See you there!
What a truly fantastic morning. While Woody Allen was a little tough to catch up to - the star of his new movie, Hayley Atwell, was kind enough to autograph my Sharpie Pink Ribbon Jersey. Even managed to later meet a truly fantastic actor, director, producer and fellow Brit Kenneth Branagh.
Welcome to my first TIFF Report for KayvonTV from the heart of the Toronto International Film Festival in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. What a crazy week it will be. And what a crazy day it was for me yesterday with numerous media appearances talking about KayvonTV, autograph collecting at the Toronto Festival, and the Pink Ribbon Sharpie campaign to support breast cancer research. I want to send a special thanks to Jackson Proskow and the Global News team for an excellent report on the film festival starring none other then your KayvonTV.com host - me! Stay tuned for Toronto Film Festival reports all week - exclusively on KayvonTV.com
What an unbelievably fantastic time at a command performance of the Queen musical We Will Rock You at the Canon Theatre in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. And with true Queen legends Brian May and Roger Taylor in the house and appearing with the cast in a truly once-in-a-lifetime special performance. It was all part of a taping for Canadian Idol which will feature Brian and Roger this week on CTV. In the words of Queen themselves, the night was a “Kind of Magic” and with We Will Rock You running till September 30th - a must see Toronto theatre attraction.
Well this day didn’t exactly turn out how I would have liked. We were off to meet one of the greatest rock showmen in history - Mr. Gene Simmons of KISS fame. But there was just something that Mr. Simmons didn’t like. Could it be the camera? Surprising considering the vast array of reality programming that Mr. Simmons lends his talents too. So why not KayvonTV.com?
I got a very different reaction recently when I met another rock god - Mr. Rob Halford of Judas Priest. That episode was a very different experience for me.
