Jen is right! He did not have to take the photo. HE WAS VERY BUSY, walking through a mall…doing nothing, on his way to his most favorite fan…HIMSELF.

In Gene’s defense, we need to know the date that this video was taken. Rod Stewart played Rochester May 9th. According to the video this was the day after. I’m not sure of the air date of the face reveal episode, but the timing is close. Gene could have still been under contract not to allow pictures of him to be taken until after the Family Jewels episode aired showing the results of his surgery. As with all the Reality TV stuff, the cliffhanger reveals are worth a lot of money. Survivor and Bachelor contestants sign contracts including multi-million dollar fines if they reveal the ending. Gene, I’m sure, is under the same obligation.

I have watched a few of his reality tv shows and my impression of him was that he was a real cool guy, a nice and down to earth person. But, having seen your video, I am changing my opinion of him. There is no reason (however busy he might have been, or in a bad mood, or whatever) for him to say yes and then change his mind. I guess fans don’t mean much to him and he’s just too busy getting a nose job.

Dude - Give Gene a break. First off - from what I saw, he never agreed. Rich Abrhamson agreed. I never saw or heard Gene saw you could take his picture. In fact, you can hear Rich trying to coax him (…”just trying to be nice”…” Secondly, you ambushed him in a mall with the camera rolling and got in his face. You compare the experience to your meeting with Halford (All Hail the Metal God!!) who you met at an event where he was already signing autographs AND the camera was several feet away. No surprise you got a better reaction. (Not a nice comment about his orientation by the way!)

What a joke… you had a video camera… if you had just been by yourself he might have been more obliging, and as said above, perhaps it was around the time of the face lift reveal… He wasn’t rude to you, he just didn’t want his picture taken. I used to watch Gene Simmons Family Jewels until the novelty wore off.
He is very money hungry but notice he doesnt say anything about what charity or third world country he is helping ???

At first upon viewing this, I thought maybe Gene had a great big ZIT on his nose or something. Then I thought, maybe he dipped a little too heavy into the illegal pharmasuticals during lunch, and wasn’t in “interview mode”. But then I realized who I was referring to. Gene Simmons wasn’t going to be PAID for this picture and/or short interview! That kind of propaganda gets out all over the world and he is hounded for years from disapointed people trying to get free interviews from him, since his statis is “rock god”, a self reference which is sad in itself. But when the world worships you for a long period of time - you obviously believe it, or have to - to keep the image up - sorry Gene, the world is fickle.
