Well Folks, Cirque du Soleil recently stopped down in this great city of ours for a 11 day stint at the Air Canada Center, bringing with them their brand new urban themed arena spectacular, “Saltimbanco”.
Saltimbanco -from the Italian “saltare in banco”, which literally means “to jump on a bench”-explores the urban experience in all its myriad forms: the people who live there, their idiosyncrasies and likenesses, families and groups, the hustle and bustle of the street and the towering heights of skyscrapers. Between whirlwind and lull, prowess and poetry, Saltimbanco takes spectators on an allegorical and acrobatic journey into the heart of the city
Thanks to my very good friends at Flip Publicity, the KayvonTV cast and crew had the very special opportunity to catch the 49 performer ensemble gearing up for their Toronto show, which played the ACC from Wednesday August 13th to Sunday August 24th, 2008.
If you missed “Saltimbanco” @ the ACC, don’t worry folks, it is still now on a limited run @ Hamilton’s Copps Coliseum, “Saltimbanco” will then visit Amherst, MA, Buffalo, NY, Trenton, NJ, Minneapolis/St-Paul, MN, Milwaukee, WI, Highland Heights, KY, and Honolulu, HI before concluding this tour.
If you want more information on “Saltimbanco” showtimes and locations, or if you would like to order tickets to see “Saltimbanco” when it comes through your town, please visit the Saltimbanco website today!
